Gym to Office: How to Wear Athleisure All Day
How to go from a morning session to a full workday without a full change.

The 7am class ends at 8. You need to be at your desk by 9.30. Somewhere in between there is a commute, maybe a coffee, and the question of what to wear. If you have ever packed a full second outfit just to change once, this guide is for you.
Gym to office dressing is not about wearing leggings to a board meeting. It is about choosing a few pieces that work hard in a session and still look considered at a desk, then adding or swapping one or two things in between.
Start with the right base
Everything begins with what you wear closest to your skin. For a day that starts with a workout, you want fabric that dries quickly, holds its shape and does not show sweat easily.
Our performance core is a nylon-spandex blend made for this. It has four-way stretch, it is quick-drying and it stays opaque through deep squats. Darker colours like black and navy are the most forgiving across a long day.
Good base pieces for a gym to office day:
- A sports bra or crop that works as a layer, like the Contrast Sports Bra in Black.
- A fitted tank or tee in a solid colour, such as the FLO Racerback Tank in Black.
- Flares or a straight-leg pant rather than a classic legging. The High-Waist Flare Pant in Black reads more like trousers once you add a layer.
Add one structured layer
The single biggest change from gym to office is a structured layer. A jacket or half-zip with a clean shape changes the whole outfit. It covers a sports bra, sharpens the shoulders and makes a workout look intentional.
Our structured fabric is a smoother, crisper polyamide that holds its shape, which is why we use it for jackets and half-zips. The Sculpt Zip Jacket in Black zips up for the commute and can sit open over a tank at your desk. For men, the Quarter-Zip Midlayer in Navy does the same job over a training tee.
Three outfits, start to finish
The studio-to-desk
Morning: Pilates or yoga in a sports bra and flares. After: add the zip jacket, swap trainers for clean white sneakers or loafers, and add a structured tote. Hair up, small gold earrings, done.
The run-to-meeting
Morning: a short run in a tank and leggings. After: a quick shower, then the same tank under an oversized shirt or a blazer, with wide-leg trousers or the Wide-Leg Sweatpant in Chocolate on a relaxed day. The soft core cotton-spandex fabric is brushed and breathable, made for the rest of the day.
The men’s training-to-work
Morning: strength session in the Essential Training Tee in Black and training shorts. After: change into chinos or tailored joggers, keep a fresh tee and add the quarter-zip. It is a smart-casual look that works in most Indian offices that are not suit-and-tie.
What to pack
Even with a strong base, a small bag makes the day easier. Keep it light:
- A fresh top or tee in case the session was a hard one.
- Office shoes, or clean sneakers kept only for indoors.
- Deodorant, face wipes, a hair tie or scrunchie.
- A spare pair of socks. The Ribbed Crew Sock in White works with sneakers all day.
- A pouch for damp kit, so it stays away from your laptop.
Dressing for Indian weather and offices
In Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru, the challenge is often the gap between hot streets and cold air-conditioned offices. Layers solve both. Wear the lightest base you can on the commute, then add the jacket or half-zip once you are inside.
In the monsoon, choose quick-drying fabrics and darker colours, and keep the structured layer in your bag until you arrive. In winter, a midlayer under a coat lets you train outdoors in the morning and stay comfortable in an office that is never quite warm enough.
Keep the palette simple
Gym to office outfits look most put-together in a small, calm palette. Black, navy, white and one warm tone like chocolate or forest green will mix with almost anything in a work wardrobe. When every piece goes with every other piece, getting dressed at 6am becomes one less decision.
The point of it all
A good gym to office wardrobe gives you time back. Fewer changes, fewer bags, less thinking about clothes. That leaves more attention for the session, the work and the evening that comes after. Browse women’s pieces and men’s pieces to build your own.
